Oil Production Prospects

For the next five years, experts give a forecast for sustainable oil production, which will meet the needs of the domestic market and ensure economically viable export of oil and oil products.

The main oil producing regions remain Western Siberia and the Ural-Volga region, where production plateau is reached by new drilling and geological and technical measures at existing fields.

The production gain in Eastern Siberia replaces the production loss in Western Siberia.

The production gain is possible due to:

• drilling new production wells;
• efficiency improvement of geological and technical measures;
• development of hard-to-recover reserves in low-permeability reservoirs and high-viscosity oil;
• new fields development.
